R6 Regional Council (R6) is accepting applications for a Weatherization FieldTechnician.
Responsibility:
The technician will be responsible for fieldwork such as installing insulation, doors,
windows, exhaust fans, water heater blankets, pipe wrap, smoke detectors, and
co-detectors.
Job Summary
● Works on a crew of up to three technicians.
● All work is completed per program guidelines and quality standards.
● Works in all areas of the home, including spaces with limited clearance, such as
attics, crawlspaces, and basements
● Performs regular maintenance on tools and equipment.
● Applies safety practices and principles in daily work.
● Participates in organization-wide efforts to improve efficiency, teamwork, and
quality.
Physical Requirements:
Applicant must be able to lift up to 50lbs regularly and occasionally 75lbs without
assistance. Must be able to maneuver and perform work in tight spaces,
occasionally with clearance as small as 24″, and work on roofs and ladders up to
35′ in height. While performing job-related duties applicant will be required to sit,
stand, kneel, crouch, crawl, demonstrate manual dexterity, speak, hear, and see.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
● High School degree or equivalency (GED)
● Field training is provided. Prior experience in home improvement, construction,
carpentry, mechanical, utility, or building trade is preferred.
